My husband’s comment to my idea of illustrating a green flower was that there are no green flowers…..my response is, “there doesn’t have to be!” This is why I love art; you can create whatever your imagination visualizes. I am fearful of what others might say, but I have been listening to The Accidental Creative podcast and was inspired by the episode with Julien Smith on The Flinch.
The Flinch is about how to get over our hesitation to do something because of fear, and be brave enough to do it. However it takes courage to follow Julien’s recommended actions….I’ll keep you posted as to which ones I’ll be brave enough to do. The kindle version of the book is free so get over yourself and give it a quick read.
Back to my green flower. I envisioned this flower back in late February and I must say that it took courage and work to see it through. Even though, I may not be a beginner to illustrator, I am definitely not a master at it either. To create all the different patterns for each petal seemed overwhelming and procrastination was the answer. However, once I got myself working on the patterns, slowly but surely all of them were done. Soon after my flower was complete and I’m elated.
Goodbye Winter and Hello Spring. Spring is my favorite season of the year. Texas has gotten a lot of rain this year and it is blooming in green, yes, even green flowers! Cheers!
